Rep. C. Wimmer Revisions aimed at drive-by shootings. Will include clarification allowing shooting from vehicle at ranges. USSC SUPPORTS.

Rep. Neil Hansen Provides exceptions for self defense, shooting ranges, etc but for criminals it would be a 3rd degree felony. There are some problems with this bill that need to be clarified. USSC DOES NOT SUPPORT.
HB 195 Concealed Firearm Permit Amendments

Passed by House.

Died in Senate

Limits Concealed Weapon Permits.for non-resident aliens to residents of countries with suitable background check info and raises fees for those cases to $100.
USSC SUPPORTS this bill, but will watch carefully to ensure no changes made to other sections.

Modifies definitions in criminal code section.
Anti-gun rights forces inocrrectly described this bill and were able to ram though amendments that CHANGED IT INTO AN ANTI-GUN BILL!

THIS PLACES NEW RESTRICTIONS ON LAW ABIDING CITIZENS' SELF DEFENSE RIGHTS!

SB 67 Protection of Constitutionally Guaranteed Activities in Certain Private Venues

Passed Senate 23-4 on 2/6.

Tabled by House Judiciary Committee 2/22.

Sen. Mark Madsen Would prohibit discrimination against legally owned items in motor vehicles, including free speech bumper stickers, legally possessed firearms, etc. USSC STRONGLY SUPPORTS

SB 157 1st Substitute Rights of Citizens to Carry Firearms in Declared Emergency

Passed Senate 26-2.
Passsed by House 72-2 in final hours of session.

Awaiting approval by governor.
