Statement of USSC Position:
Statement of Purpose and Principles

Our Purpose

    USSC is a non-profit coalition organization of individuals and groups dedicated to the preservation, protection and defense of the individual right of all Utahns to keep and bear their  private arms for security and defense of self, family, others, property, the state, and all other lawful purposes.

Our Principles

    To accomplish our stated purpose, USSC shall be guided by the following principles in the establishment of its programs, policies, and procedures.
 

1: USSC is committed to the principle of supporting the fundamental human, constitutional and civil rights of every individual, without regard to race, gender, ethnic or national origin, religion, political affiliation, age, physical disability, or other status. On these fundamental human, constitutional and civil rights, there can and will be no compromise.

2: USSC is committed to the principle of active involvement in and effective use of every legitimate political, legal, social, economic, educational, informational and communicative process to further our purpose and interests and achieve our goals.

3: USSC is committed to the principle of creating and maintaining the maximum level of  opportunity for the broadest range of  involvement and participation in the shooting sports by  the widest audience in our state.

4: USSC is committed to the principle of not supporting, and further specifically rejects the initiation of force or violence against persons, organizations or institutions to further our purpose and interests and achieve our goals. USSC strongly encourages every organization and individual involved in this issue to embrace this principle.
